Our verdict

Chase Freedom Unlimited mixes a 1.5% base rate with higher rates in a few everyday categories. Chase's card page lists 3% on dining, including takeout and eligible delivery, 3% on drugstore purchases, 5% on travel purchased through Chase Travel, and 1.5% on everything else, with a $0 annual fee and a $200 bonus after $500 in purchases in the first 3 months (as of 2026-10-02). The intro offer is 0% APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers. After that, the card page shows a variable APR of 18.49% to 27.99%. The linked pricing and terms document showed 18.24% to 27.74%, calculated from a 6.75% Prime Rate dated 12/16/2025, so the two official pages did not match when we checked and we score transparency lower for that. The terms document lists a balance transfer fee of $5 or 3% in the first 60 days and $5 or 5% after, a cash advance APR of 28.49%, a 3% foreign transaction fee and late fees of up to $40. APRs are variable; confirm on Chase's site before applying.
