Our verdict
Google's official spec sheet lists the Google Home Speaker at $99.99 (as of 2026-10-02) with a Quad Core A55 2.0 GHz processor and NPU, 1 GB of memory, a 58 mm full-range driver, three far-field microphones, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and a Thread 1.3 border router. Google states it works as a hub for Matter with Google Home, and the Google Home app runs on iOS and Android, which helps households with mixed phones. Gemini for Home, media playback, broadcast and parental controls are included, but Gemini Live, 'Help me create' automations and sound detection need Google Home Premium Standard at $10/month or $100/year, with Advanced at $20/month or $200/year (as of 2026-10-02). There is no Zigbee radio listed, and Google's US hardware warranty is one year. Firsthand did not test this speaker; the rating reflects Google's published specifications and terms.
