Exercise increased caution in Mauritius due to crime . Crime Most crimes against foreigners are crimes of opportunity. This includes pickpocketing, purse snatchings, and petty thefts. Petty crime occurs in crowded outdoor shopping areas, beaches, and other tourist spots.
