Our verdict
The Pixel Watch 5 is the easiest Wear OS watch to recommend to Android owners who do not use a Samsung phone. Google's store lists it from $399.99 (as of 2026-10-02). Google's spec sheet lists a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip with a Cortex-M55 co-processor, Wear OS 7.0, 64 GB of storage, a display up to 3,000 nits, IP68 and 5 ATM, dual-frequency GPS, Ultra-Wideband and satellite SOS communication. Google rates the 45mm model at up to 40 hours with the always-on display and up to 72 hours with Battery Saver, and the 41mm model at up to 30 and 48 hours; these are Google's claims, not our measurements. Its support story is the clearest in this guide: Google's support page guarantees updates until at least October 2029. The downsides: it works only with phones on Android 12.0 or newer, the smaller size has notably less rated battery, coaching sits behind the separate Google Health Premium membership (3 months included), and the warranty is 1 year. Firsthand did not test this watch; the rating is based on Google's published specifications, price and policies.
