Our verdict

The Galaxy Watch9 scores highest overall in this guide on documented facts, with one big condition: you get the most from it with a Samsung Galaxy phone. Samsung's US store lists it from $379.99 for the 40mm Bluetooth model, with other configurations at $409.99, $429.99 and $459.99 (as of 2026-10-02). Samsung's spec pages list a 3 nm, five-core Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage, up to 3,000 nits brightness, and 5 ATM plus IP68 and MIL-STD-810H durability. Samsung claims the 44mm model runs up to 40 hours with the always-on display off and up to 30 hours with it on; that is the maker's rating, not something we measured. Samsung's official spec sheet also lists a security update period valid until 31 July 2031. The trade-offs are real. Samsung's footnotes say features such as Energy Score coaching, Vitals and the Heart Health Score need a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, there is no iPhone support, and the blood pressure feature needs a separately sold cuff for calibration every 28 days. The warranty is the standard 1 year. Firsthand did not test this watch; the rating comes from Samsung's published specifications, prices and support terms.
